Rev. Felicia L. Poe, PhD is a passionate advocate for mental health and communal kindness, as Founder and CEO of I Love You The Movement, her heart was moved to transform expressions of love into action. The organization began when Dr. Felicia received a life-saving hug on a day she felt utterly alone. This hug is the gesture that ignited her mission to show kindness and foster connections amid societal hate and loneliness.
For over two decades, Dr. Felicia has profoundly impacted individuals by offering free hugs and spreading messages of love, compassion, and support. On October 4, 2017, she expanded her mission globally, bringing together over 5,000 national and international supporters who actively participate in diverse love campaigns throughout the year!
Dr. Felicia’s personal journey is marked by trials of personal mental health struggles, specifically dealing with depression, suicide ideation, and attempts. Through scripture, prayer, therapy, and strong relationships, she has overcome these challenges and now aims to elevate others struggling similarly. Her advocacy provides crucial support systems that she desperately needed in her own youth.
An ordained Elder and Assistant Pastor, Dr. Felicia is certified in mental health first aid, QPR trained, and experienced as a sexual assault victim’s advocate and first responder. She co-founded the International event: Mental Health Action Day with MTV Entertainment Group and annually champions National Hugging Day.
Academically accomplished, Dr. Felicia graduated summa cum laude from Wilberforce University and holds a Master’s degree from United Theological Seminary and a Doctorate in Biblical Counseling from Rhema College of Theology International. In addition to Coaching, Consulting, and Counseling, she serves as an adjunct professor teaching Pastoral Care: Emotional & Spiritual Health.
Balancing her professional and community commitments, Dr. Felicia is parent to four beautiful children and stands alongside her supportive husband, Rev. Dr. Gerald Poe, Jr. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and finds finds daily inspiration from Arnold H. Glasgow’s quote: “Success is not a result of spontaneous combustion; you must set yourself on fire,” and her favorite scripture Jeremiah 29:11.
Rev. Dr. Poe continues to set trails ablaze, as a servant-trailblazer, driven by divine plans, results, and ensuring that her legacy burns brightly for future generations to find hope. Let’s Love! Let’s Re-Ignite!
